Sheeshani Light Design

22.03.07

The Sheeshani Light is named after the light and mirror district of old Istanbul and we initially designed it for the Brilliant Restaurant in West London as an addition to the overall design. The owner was proud of his 12 old kitsch brass chandeliers that hung in the restaurant before the refurbishment. We decided to come up with a modern equivalent that fitted in with his now design and colour scheme. We opted for a glass cylinder containing clear and opal crystals. The actual light bulb is imbedded amongst the crystals. The glow given off is quite subdued and there is also a fantastic flurry of light on the ceiling with orange speckles.
