The site for ' Aroma' in Burnley was a purpose built car showroom that for the last 20 years has housed the Shalimar Restaurant. The restaurant was originally single storey, but when we started the demolition we discovered that original ceiling height was very high.
This provided us with an excellent opportunity to create a mezzanine floor, overlooking a central island bar. The staircase sweeps in two directions and we have made it out of a black steel frame with solid oak treads. The Aroma restaurant has become a little gem in the centre of Burnley.
